Improve Your Research Leadership Capacity

The Center for Research, Excellence and Diversity in Team Scholarship (CREDITS) is an integrated research and training program to increase and enhance Team Scholarship (TS) and collective intelligence capacity, effectiveness, and excellence. Diversity on teams is known to have positive effects on creativity, innovation, and productivity.

Dr. Berhe is a renowned professor of soil biogeochemistry in the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences in the School of Natural Sciences at UC Merced; and the Ted and Jan Falasco Chair in Earth Sciences and Geology. Her research is at the intersection of soil science, global change science, and political ecology with an emphasis on how the soil system regulates the earth’s climate and the dynamic two-way relationship between the natural environment and human communities.

Work collaboratively to design new materials, tools, and training workshops/modules to help research development professionals develop and support diverse and inclusive science teams at their institutions.

The Center for Research, Excellence, and Diversity in Team Scholarship (CREDITS)

Collaborative, interdisciplinary team-based research has become increasingly central in scientific discovery. Team scholarship garners more funding, and more impactful research and publications. Having a strong network of collaborators and mentors is critical to a productive and successful academic career.

The Center for Research, Excellence, and Diversity in Team Scholarship (CREDITS) hosts Retreats and Institutes to promote team science competencies and leadership capacity of faculty, researchers, post-doctoral scholars, and research administrators.

CREDITS Retreats and Institutes feature interactive and engaging presentations, workshops, breakout sessions, and one-on-one consultation on team science dynamics and leadership, research design, and proposal writing.
